Our gallery continues to be a large creative endeavor for the team of volunteers who plan, organize, and present the work of both the craftsman and the artist. From the discussion to set the date to the final work to build the posters and hang the pieces we watch the calendar and prepare to complete our work for our first Friday artist’s reception. There we welcome our guests inside to share with us our excitement and appreciation for the artist’s efforts and the finished work in the gallery.
Our current gallery, “Vistas” shows through the month of March. It is a beautiful collection of framed landscape pieces from photographer, Sean Buie. Very nicely presented are the large scale images of the Grand Tetons; then bringing it closer to home, the crystal clear waters of Burney Falls; and even closer is the shaded, moss covered rocks wading in the tumbling waters of the mountain stream. Visitors will appreciate his perspective and attention to the details in our display by photographer, Sean Buie .
We are excited to announce our new gallery coming to The Art Center in April, “Wood Carver” by Ray Turek, a wood worker by trade and a “carver in the round” by choice. Ray, now retired and living near the banks of Eagle Lake, has spent the better part of his years carving. What began in the early 1980’s as a hobby developed into his life’s passion. We look forward to sharing the craft of wood carving and with confidence we will say that Ray Turek’s work will amaze you.
